Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, n8n or your own agent can search, validate and enrich Danish addresses through Danadresse — with your own API key, nothing to install.
One URL for every MCP-capable client (Streamable HTTP transport):
https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp
Authenticate with your API key as X-Api-Key: dawa_live_… or Authorization: Bearer dawa_live_…. Clients that cannot set headers (Claude.ai and ChatGPT connector screens) can use https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp?api_key=dawa_live_… — create a separate key for that tool so you can revoke it on its own. Your keys →
Tools: autocomplete_address, lookup_address, validate_address, reverse_geocode, enrich_with_dagi, property_data, distance_between, address_quality_score, list_postnumre, list_kommuner, list_vejnavne, quota_status.
Each tool call counts against your monthly MCP quota, separate from API calls — Hobby: 250 MCP, Basis: 5,000 MCP, Pro: 25,000 MCP per month. Pricing →
Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → name Danadresse, URL:
https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp?api_key=dawa_live_…
claude mcp add --transport http danadresse https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp \ --header "X-Api-Key: dawa_live_…"
Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → enable Developer mode → Create. MCP server URL https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp?api_key=dawa_live_…, authentication No authentication (the key is in the URL). Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan.
Configure → Create new action → Import from URL:
https://api.danadresse.dk/openapi-gpt.json
Authentication → API Key → Custom, header name X-Api-Key, value your key. The schema has 29 operations (autocomplete, search, datavask, reverse geocoding, DAGI, BBR, property, distance…).
~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in the project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"danadresse": {
"url": "https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp",
"headers": { "X-Api-Key": "dawa_live_…" }
}
}
}
.vscode/mcp.json — VS Code asks for the key once and stores it securely:
{
"inputs": [
{ "type": "promptString", "id": "danadresse-key",
"description": "Danadresse API key", "password": true }
],
"servers": {
"danadresse": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp",
"headers": { "X-Api-Key": "${input:danadresse-key}" }
}
}
}
AI Agent → add the MCP Client Tool: endpoint https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp, transport HTTP Streamable, authentication Header Auth with name X-Api-Key. Without an agent, use the HTTP Request node against the REST API directly.
OpenAI Responses API — hosted MCP tool:
tools=[{
"type": "mcp",
"server_label": "danadresse",
"server_url": "https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp",
"headers": {"X-Api-Key": "dawa_live_…"},
"require_approval": "never"
}]
Anthropic Messages API — MCP connector (the token is sent as a Bearer key, which we accept):
mcp_servers=[{
"type": "url",
"url": "https://api.danadresse.dk/mcp",
"name": "danadresse",
"authorization_token": "dawa_live_…"
}]
Prefer running it yourself? The same tools ship as open-source packages:
{
"mcpServers": {
"danadresse": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@danadresse/mcp-server"],
"env": { "DANADRESSE_API_KEY": "dawa_live_…" }
}
}
}
Python: uvx danadresse-mcp with DANADRESSE_API_KEY set.
The chat button in the corner answers questions about migration, endpoints, keys and prices from our documentation. Signed in to the dashboard, it can also look at your own plan, usage and keys (read-only).
?api_key=; use a dedicated key per AI tool and revoke it in the dashboard if it leaks.
